Tierra Verde 1st Annual Car
& Truck Show, April 2012

The Tierra Verde car show was staffed by the people from Premium Productions and took place in Tierra Verde, Florida (located at the southern tip of St. Petersburg). The best thing about this show was they would be donating the proceeds from the show to The Veterans of South Pinellas. Six of us from the Deep South Mopars Tampa Bay (Florida) Chapter came out for the day. We met up at a parking lot a few miles north of the show so we could pull in to the show as a group in order to be parked next to each other. This was the first show for the 1981 Chrysler Imperial I recently acquired so I was a bit nervous as to how it would be received. The engine shows she is a daily driver and the paint needs work due to the roof having been repainted in the past and they did a poor job blending the new roof paint in to the original paint towards the sides.

The first seven pictures show the cars from the club. At the end of the day four of the club members took home trophies. Best In Class awards went to the cars in pictures 4 and 7 and runner up awards were won by the cars in pictures 2 and 3. As an added bonus to the day the beautiful blue truck in pictures 8 thru 11 (owned by a friend over at the MoparStyle forums) took home the Best In Class award in the 2001-present modified class. My friend also took a lot of pictures of the vehicles at the show and posted them at this link.

This was the first time this show was held and I think the turn-out for it was a little more then they expected as they had the parking lot packed about as tight as they could get it. Seeing as how this show was to raise funds for our military veterans I was glad to see the place pack to the rafters. And since it was produced and staffed by a company that has been responsible for car shows for 20 years everything went pretty smoothly. The only thing I didn't like was the lack of porta-potties. They were relying on the restrooms from local businesses for those that were there for the show. I just don't like going in to a business only to use their bathroom if I'm not going to buy something from them.
