Here are some pics of a truck that is owned by a friend of mine
in Galveston, Indiana, who
also likes old Dodges. He sent me the following images along with some info about
the vehicle. Click on any picture to see a larger view of it.
This is a 1964 Dodge D400 truck motivated by a flat head six which feeds power
to a four speed manual transmission (an NP435 according to the owner's manual) with a PTO
unit and rolls on 7.50-20 tires. Future
plans include building a really nice contractor style bed to put on it.
Odometer indicates 44,088 miles on it but that might be
144,088. According to the info on the back of the original owners manual it was sold
in Blufton, Indiana (delivery date of 12-23-64) and was
bought from a dealership by the name of John W. Gallam, Inc. by a farmer from New Castle. The
farmer has since then
passed away and the truck has spent the last ten years sitting in a barn. If you have
any info that might help me with restoring this Dodge please email the owner at
Smittys68coronet@aol.com.
