This page is for my latest toy, a 1998 Subaru Legacy Limited GT.

Years back I used to own a couple of Dodge Daytona Turbo Z's and fell in love with the combination of power and great gas mileage due to the turbo package. But Dodge dropped the turbo stuff about ten years ago. Well, now that winter is coming I started looking for a car to use for going to work in. Since I have to drive about 35 miles each way it had to be something with good gas mileage (which my '77 Charger with a big block V-8 does not get). This past summer I have been using my Harley for getting to work as it gets 45 to 50 mpg. So I needed something that would be a lot better then my Charger but don't expect it to be as high as my bike. A newer Shelby Daytona with turbo gets about 25 to 30 mpgs so I started looking for one. But my wife had to add one requirement that put a kink in to my plan - whatever car I get she said must have 4 doors. We now have two little ones so the rear doors would make it easier to get them in their car seats. And since she will be helping to pay for the car I had to keep it in mind. Now while I consider myself a tried and true Mopar fan my interest in Subarus started the first time I saw a commercial for the turbo-charged WRX. Plus the WRX has 4 doors along with all wheel drive (AWD). When winter comes that white stuff called snow will also return so the AWD feature should come in handy. And since Dodge hasn't made a four door turbo car that I liked I knew I was going to have to look somewhere else for what I needed. So when I saw the Legacy for sale I kind of liked how it looked along with the fact that it has 4 doors. And after I took it for a test ride I was impressed. Since the car has the GT package it has 205/55R16 tires along with a sports oriented suspension so the car handles about as well as the Daytonas I had did. The only problem is it lacks a turbo. So after I did a search on the internet I discovered several companies selling turbo kits for these cars. Now I was really hooked. The next day I bought the car. A couple of days later my wife took the car out for a ride and when she returned she wouldn't give me the keys back. Now she likes it almost as much as I do. The only problem with it is I like driving it as much as I like riding my motorcycle. :-) Below are a few pics of the car. Just click on any of them to see a larger version.
